He's Finally Here

Our sweet baby boy, Lincoln James, is finally here!  The getting here was not that fun, for mom or baby, but he's here now and he's absolutely perfect.  After 30 hours of labor, mom and baby were both tired.  Lincoln was face up and after so long he stopped tolerating the contractions.  His heart rate would drop after each contraction.  So, a c-section was ordered and Lincoln James was born at 12:15 am on Friday, May 21st.  He came out screaming. :)  We fell instantly in love with him and we are more and more smitten everyday.  He had his first doctor's appointment today and they confirmed what we already knew....he's perfect. :)  He's already missing his grandmas who had to leave.  They did so much, we're lost without them. :)  Here are a few pictures of Lincoln's first 6 days.

"Spring" Time

Any of you that have been in Laramie these last few months know exactly why the title of this blog is in quotes.  Clay and I are pretty easy going people.  We often joke about how our favorite season is the one that's coming.  Well...we're sick to death of winter weather.  Spring fever has hit us extra hard this year.  It might have something to do with the fact that we're getting ready for our little guy to arrive in....wait for it.....10 DAYS!!  Nine months is a long time to wait, but then suddenly the time is upon you and you start freaking out about how much you have left to do.  Nevertheless, we have enjoyed this fun time and are very excited for the big changes that are in store for us very soon.  Clay is in the middle of finals.  His last final is on the 19th.  We are scheduled to check into the hospital that night...yes...that night.  No use waiting around anymore if Clay's done, right? :)  Here are just some random pictures of our adventures here in Laramie this "spring."

White Coat Ceremony

April 16th was Clay's white coat ceremony.  It was a fun evening.  The student's preceptors all presented their white coats to them.  Clay's preceptor, Dr. Yvette Haeberle, called me up to put it on him.  It was exciting...even more so when after walking down off the stage, I stepped off my heel and almost fell in front of the entire crowd.  I didn't fall.  I kept it to a very ungraceful stumble causing a gasp from the front row of the crowd.  Of course, I felt like the entire audience saw, but luckily not many did.  Clay's parents didn't even notice so I decided not to crawl in a hole and die of embarrassment.  :)
